Halloween is on the way and so is our holiday spirit. We have years of history of playing through Holiday Events together. Now that we don't all play the same game, we talk about how important we think these events play a part in our MMO lives. With our special guest BigEvil, we discuss how we each feel about a number of topics, including what we all think about PvP, and how we all view the many tradeskills that have enveloped our MMO games. Come with us on our journey as we laugh, cry, and fight our way through our MMORPG lives.

Highlights:
  • What do you think about Holiday Events guys?
  • PvP? You know you wanna

Very enjoyable podcast. I listen to them at work. :D I enjoy the comparisons of the different games. I also enjoy hearing the guest opinions on their own games vs experiences in Vanguard.

I'm torn on the whole tradeskilling issue. All of my Vanguard characters have begun a crafting skill of some sort. Most aren't level very much, but in the end I hope to have one of each crafter type. I enjoy crafting as a break from adventuring and I enjoy being able to make the things I need.

As far as meshing tradeskill and adventuring...hmm, I like the idea. I wish you had to craft pieces or do some diplomacy in long quest lines, but I don't know that it is a realistic concept. Maybe if there was a good mix of both quests that were pure adventuring and those that required all spheres, that would be perfect.

I am also torn on the whole idea of meshing tradeskilling and adventuring. I do, however, believe that this can be done in a way that gets rid of as much tediousness as possible, while at the same time, allowing for that sense of accomplishment that we so highly desire from these games.

One way of doing this, is allowing every crafting class to be able to craft the items that is needed to be made, as well as making the recipe a low level (possibly level 10). This would give the satisfaction of not only completing the quest, but that you were the one that actually crafted the item for the quest, and wasn't just given the item by a crafter.
